Nonprofit Management
SCORE is offering a series of four seminars
about starting and managing a nonprofit service organization
or agency. The Series is designed to provide a comprehensive
overview of essential elements to help start and grow a
successful nonprofit.
SCORE consultants, with nonprofit experience in Silicon
Valley, present seminars on the basic elements for starting
and running a successful nonprofit. The seminar titles and
description are described below.
The first seminar, February 12, is “Should I Start a
Nonprofit?” The Agenda is:

starting a Nonprofit business
Also included is a discussion of personal
characteristics and experience are needed to create a successful
nonprofit service organization or agency.
The second seminar, May 13, is “How to Create a
Nonprofit Business Plan”. SCORE counselors
knowledgeable in financial management will explain the elements
of a successful business plan. They will demonstrate how to set
up a cash flow chart
To help determine what the financial needs are for success.
The third seminar, August 19, is “Board Development and
Fundraising”. This seminar will cover how to enlist an
active and working board of directors to help the nonprofit
succeed. It will
also cover how to develop funding sources to support the service
or agency, and how to cultivate donors.
The fourth and last seminar in the series, November 18,
will cover “Nonprofit Marketing and Management”. SCORE
counselors experienced in marketing processes will outline the
many ways of getting your service known in the community. They
will also describe management techniques how to motivate best
performances from board, staff and volunteers

Registration Fee: $40 at the door, $35 if
pre-registered online.
