Counseling
You may ask
questions to one of the SCORE volunteers
throughout the nation via the Internet.
The process works as follows:
-
Click this button:
(a new window will open)
-
You will see two
options. Use only
Connect to a
Mentor over Email
Enter the keyword or
area of expertise you need help on, then
click the
"Find an Email
Mentor"
button
-
A list of potential
SCORE volunteers should be listed.
Search filters are not 100% accurate, so
check the counselor's background by clicking
on their name.
-
If you think the
SCORE volunteer you selected may be able to
answer your questions,
click on the
"Ask a Question"
button. Fill out the question form and
Submit
your question.
-
If you hadn't
previously logged into the
National SCORE
site:
-
If you have not
already registered with the National
SCORE site, click the
"Register"
button.
-
If you had
previously registered, fill in
your username (email address)/password
and click the
"Log in" button.
-
Passwords - if
the system doesn't give you a password,
try using the
"Forget Username or Password"
feature. After you are logged in,
Click on "My SCORE" at the top right
corner. Click on My Profile tab.
Click on Edit Profile button.
Click on Login/Password. Enter new
password. You can also edit your
profile, if you wish. Your profile
just helps counselors to know your
background when answering your
questions.
Note: the National SCORE
email Counseling system is in "Beta Test" mode,
so it may be a little slow or have problems.
Also: the National SCORE website does not yet
work using Internet Explorer 9 - If you are
using IE9, try clicking the browser's
"compatibility" button at the top, or please try
using Firefox.
